1 John 1:3 “We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ.“
We have fellowship dinners at the church, where families are encouraged to bring a “covered dish” (if they can) to share with the group. These dinners are on Sunday evenings from 6:00 – 7:30 pm and are great times of fellowship together. Usually we have a program presented or enjoy playing a game together for fun. During the Fall and Spring we enjoy having a church family picnic at one of our local state parks. We have a cookout with hot dogs and hamburgers and all the trimmings! There are always great desserts to top off a great meal! We usually enjoy playing volleyball, horseshoes, and frisbee golf. The younger ones enjoy swinging on the swings, playing in the sand and feeding the ducks. Check the calendar for the next picnic!
Each month we have a Men’s Fellowship Breakfast, usually at the church. We have a short devotional from scripture and a time of prayer. It is a time where we can encourage one another as men in the body of Christ. Also, we just have fun sharing in the things going on in our lives, families, church, and the world. As men of the church, we plan projects to help those in need, in our church and in our community. Our desire as men, is to give God glory through following His Son, Jesus Christ, and to prove to be His disciples! We usually meet on the 3rd Saturday morning each month from 8:30-9:30 am. Our seniors meet once a month for the Best Years Club! The group enjoys a covered dish lunch and fellowship around the table. Afterwards, someone gives a short devotional and then we have a program presentation. There is a collection taken, and at the end of the year, the funds are given to a charity or a special need determined by the group. Our time is closed in prayer. The gathering is held in the fellowship hall from 12:30 pm until 1:30 pm. Check the calendar for the day and time.
Several times during the year we will have a Family Movie Night. This is a great time for our families to enjoy a movie that encourages them in aspects of their Christian life – for all age groups! There is usually popcorn or ice cream! Check the calendar for days and times!
On the Sunday before Christmas and on Easter Sunday morning, the men of our church prepare a breakfast for the congregation. The menu includes; sausage, eggs, bacon, pancakes, biscuits, and grits. Breakfast is served between 9:30 to 10:15 am. Check the calendar for the next day and time!
Children and Youth Fellowship Activities
There are a varity of activities that we do specifically for our youth and children. Some of these include; bowling, pizza, ice cream, seeing a Christian movie, Super Bowl gathering at someone’s home, going to a minor league baseball game, a lock-in at the church, retreats at Bonclarken, frisbee golf, etc. All these activities are to promote the building of relationships between the different age groups and how to enjoy socializing as believers.
